7 Things To Do At The Beginning Of Each Month As A Multi-Passionate.

Are you a planner? Do you take the time to plan out your month, set goals and re-strategist your time?

I start planning my month even though I had planned the quarter and doing this had helped me a lot.

Since 2021 I have been doing a few things that have helped me have a more productive, conscious of my mindset and ideas while having a successful month!

Here’s what I like to do at the beginning of each month.

7 Things To Do At The Beginning Of Each Month

1. Write a biography

At the beginning of each month. I like to write a short article about me and my accomplishment, the surprising thing here is I like to keep it brief while mentioning what I had achieved for that month even though the month had not ended.

This helps as I have a lot of ideas that I’m breathing life into as a multi being, writing this article also helps me process my thoughts filter out the noise and avoid confusion as I live through the month.

Whenever you ran into an idea you want to start, open that article, have a read to figure out if it ties in any way to what you write if not, writes it down separately in your note and if you are writing the next one you can always add or ignore it.

This biography can be written in your note, phone note app or a sticky note on your screen, the most important thing is that you are always with it unless you taking a dump or in the kitchen.

2. Reflection

At the beginning of each month, I like to reflect on my previous month. Ask yourself questions like

  • Did I reach my goals?
  • Is there something I can do differently to reach my goals?
  • What worked this month?
  • What didn’t work this month?
  • Example of wins can I celebrate?
  • My distraction, what are they?
  • What are my mistake?
  • How can i make up for my ambition this month?

I like to write down my monthly goals in my diary, 90 days planner (this I design for myself) and an online doc so that I can easily refer back to my ambition at the end of each month to see what I accomplished and what I still need to work on.

3. Declutter

Decluttering is one of the complex things multi-passionates do encounter, that fear of making sure you are not removing things or making your life simple is always there.

Yet finding the energy to go through decluttering is an important step in filtering out noise for that month, helping you start each month with a clear strategy mind.

There are several things you can declutter, it does not have to be boxed in, some example of what you can declutter are namely:

  • Stationary
  • Used post it
  • Articles
  • Bookmark
  • Browser history
  • Contant list
  • Messages
  • Fridge
  • Closets
  • Expired products
  • Electronic gadget
  • Cabinets
  • Shelves and so on.

4. Set A Theme

At the beginning of each month, I pick a word maximum of two of what I want to feel or do for that month it could be something as simple as “flexibility” while working my word around the task I need to accomplish for that month.

5. Set goals

At the beginning of each month, I like to set goals for myself as that feeling of accomplishing a goal is always exhilarating.

When it comes to setting my ambition for that month, I like to set goals in all areas of my life and as a multi-passionate being, you can imagine the number of areas I do have.

Finances: I am always looking at ways to better my finances. As someone with a low income and a lot of dreams and expenses, I am always trying to pay more debt off each month. Being a freelancer also allows me to continually find new ways to increase my income. I also like to make savings goals. (how much money do I want to save that month.)

Health: I try to set goals for my health every month, whether it is “workout for 30 minutes 3 times a week” or “drink 4 to 8 sachets of water every day and not drinking any soda.” These are just health goals I like to make for myself to make sure I am exercising and making healthy choices.

Personal: When it comes to personal this had to do with being consistent with my morning routine (read on the type of morning routine on the novellisteer blog) or checking with myself mentally.

I find this goal to be very important, so I could be in the best mood or check on that habit I need to let go so I need to make sure I am keeping up with my personal goals.

Business: As someone currently working on 3 business ideas, I found myself setting an individual goal on each of the ideas, as it allows me to keep in tune with what am currently doing and make sure am not experiencing burnout.

Other areas you can set goals for:

  • Education
  • Career
  • Relationships
  • Spritual
  • Building an income
  • Hustle
  • Job

6. Set a budget

Feeling financially stable is important for me especially as I have a low income, to begin with, and am making sure my expenses is making sense while not stressing me out for that reason at the beginning of the month, I like to set a budget.

I do this by figuring out my consistent income, the expenses for that month and the investment amount I need to do.

For me, investment and saving come first, once I subtract that I would distribute the remaining money for my expenses and luckily, most of my expenses occur at the beginning or end of the month and they are mostly recurring ones.

7. Set a monthly challenge

Another thing I like to do at the beginning of each month is set a monthly challenge. It’s almost like breaking down my ambition for the month. I take my BIG ambition, create a roadmap, break it down into smaller and turn it into my monthly challenge.

Here is an example: Increase Novellisteer Awareness by 10%

Let’s say my big goal is to increase Novellisteer Awareness by 10%, I then break it down into smaller pieces such as

  • Publish 6 blog post
  • Publish 4 episode
  • Promote daily on twitter
  • Engage with blogging community
  • Hold a twitter space
  • Engage on Instagram
  • Blog hopping daily

Then I can further turn it into a monthly challenge. I create separate goals for each week that will help me accomplish my one big goal.

Week one: Focus on batch creating and editing

For week two: Schedule those content and be consistent on the platform

Week three: Engage on the platform

Week four: Cross-promote those content

I hope you found these 7 tips helpful! Let’s make this month a good one!!
